This is rarely described in such a formal way by game designers, but during implementation the core task is to distil the design down to these types of basic ideas and then express them in code. My proposed project consists on an effort to implement ideas that a general game engine must have. KGE will automatically create instancing for a mesh if you place it more than 10 times in scene and change its vertex shader to support instancing. (Around 5 to 6 weeks) 1.1 Define an initial design. 1.4 Implement the functionality. Static mesh instancing implemented for KGE 0.0.7. 1.3 Code base classes and methods. 1.2 Define scene engine feature. 1.5 Iterate adding more functionalities. Specifically, I'll implement a scene engine able to interact with the rest of the pygame library in a smooth way, like with Scene Engine.
